Online Platforms Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Stories A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she explained. Required Changes A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
